Ginger Lemonade

Updated: Feb 16

The recipe is simple and easy to follow. This is our maternal family recipe. It's so soothing and refreshing especially during summer. We don't wait for a bad cough or sore throat to make it. We make it every summer and winter.

Ingredients:

  • 4-6 large lemons (juiced, keep lemon pulp and peel)

  • 75 grams of peel ginger

  • 3 tablespoons of rose honey or hibiscus honey

  • 1/2 -1 tablespoon fleur de sel or sea salt flakes

  • 1 liter of hot water

Instructions:

  1. Boil hot water, add sliced ginger and lemon rinds/pulp from the freshly squeezed lemon in a percolator.

  2. After water is boiled, add lemon juice. If you boil lemon juice, it tastes bitter so always add it last.

  3. Add fleur de sel and rose honey while water is hot. Stir in until mixture is homogenous.

  4. Adjust fleur de sel and rose honey to your preference.

Hope you enjoy our simple recipe!
